Revue of GAME NIGHT

Game Night is about a group of friends who regularly get together for games but one of the nights, things get real and they find themselves trying to solve a murder mystery with humorous but dangerous consequences.

The synopsis of this film reads like a run off the mill comedy but you know what, Game Night was quite funny as hell! I expected a cheap attempt at comedy but I was pleasantly surprised that it turned out to be a nervy comedy with a thrill. Somehow throughout the film I kept expecting them to snap out of it that everything was a joke but nope, it kept going on and on and things get even more complicated.

My favorite character in the film was Lamorne Morris’s character (Kevin) who couldn’t get over the fact that his girlfriend cheated on him while they were broken up. The way he kept hammering on the matter was crazy. I also love Max (Jason Bateman) whose naivety was cute and funny in the way only Jason could be.

However, I must say that there were parts of the film that were quite drab and got me twiddling my thumb waiting for something to happen. Also, the conclusion of the film was expected but in an unexpected way.

Game Night is still showing in cinemas, so click THIS and get a discounted ticket to go see it with a couple of your friends. It’s not your usual comedy though, so have that at the back of your mind. Don’t forget to hit me up on Twitter and Facebook  or in the comment section below to tell me what you think about the Game Night.

Have a great weekend!

Your Turn!

  • Did you ever watch Friends? That sitcom that year…

The way you described Kevin not getting over the fact that his girlfriend had cheated on him when they had broken up is the replica of Friends but this time, Racheal was the “Kevin” and Ross was the one shouting “we were on a break”….hilarious!
