Revue of Tomb Raider
Tomb Raider is about the fiercely independent Lara Croft (Alicia Vikander) whose adventurer father disappears while he was searching for the lost tomb of Himiko- the mythical queen with the touch of death. In search of her father, Lara endures serious peril while trying to evade capture by Vogel (Dominic West) who is in search of the lost tomb for devious purposes.
The question on the mind of everyone who went to see Tomb Raider is if Alicia Vikander will be as good as Angelina Jolie. Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to announce that Alicia Vikander is a worthy successor to Jolie. She did a wonderful job portraying a beloved gaming character that made the transition to the big screen. Her action sequences were very well done and she matched the signature Lara Croft moans and squeals that gave nerds sweaty palms. However, I can’t deny that she wasn’t anatomically accurate (if you know what I mean). I understand that everyone wants to be politically correct these days because of the fear of angering the feminists and their ilk but I am sure we want to stay true to the game – am I right guys????
The plot of Tomb Raider wasn’t particularly exceptional but it was decent enough to suit the direction of the film. The action sequences too were intense and can stand up to its predecessor. I like that Alicia carried her weapon of choice – the bow and arrow almost all through the film. However, I was disappointed that she didn’t pack the 2 handguns which we are also used to seeing, although at the end of the film she went to purchase 2 Heckler & Koch USP Matchs and gave us her signature gun pose.
Well, the film had its low points however, and this was mostly at the beginning of the film which went for extended periods with nothing really happening. The film is kind of a slow burner but once it goes alight, it doesn’t let up until the conclusion of the film. So I guess, it’s safe to say that even though this film doesn’t surpass its predecessor, it is a decent film.
Tomb Raider is a good film and Jolie will be proud of Vikander and I will recommend that you go see it too so click THIS and get a discounted ticket to go see it and thereafter hit me up on Twitter and Facebook or in the comment section below to tell me what you think about the Tomb Raider.
Have an awesome weekend!
