Release Date: November 4, 2016
Directed By: Mike Mitchell, Walt Dohrn
The village of the Trolls are attacked by the Bergens who want to eat them as a source of nourishment and happiness forcing the Trolls to seek refuge in another habitation. Unfortunately, after 10 years of hiding, the Bergens find their hideout and take a couple of Trolls back to Bergen Village. Princess Poppy (Anna Kendrick) a happy-go-lucky Troll teams forms an unlikely alliance with Branch (Justin Timberlake) to go save their friends from being the main course at the Bergen dinner.
The Trolls that we all know are wicked Cyber Bullies but these ones are super cute and cuddly. The Smurfs are my curtest cartoon characters but these Trolls are gonna give them a good run for their money with their brightly colored appearance and pleasing disposition.
The plot was quite spot on because it was about a quest for happiness. Everyone knows that all humans strive to attain happiness but the analogy of the movie is that nothing we take in from the outside can give us true happiness because happiness is in all of us, all we have to do is just find it. This is a plot i subscribe to and is healthy for kids.
Apart from the nice plot, another endearing thing in the movie was the singing. There was quite a lot of singing of old school jams and a handful of modern contemporary songs and everyone at the cinema had a blast.
Kids will definitely love the TROLLS and the plot and the old school jams will appeal to the older audience. TROLLS earns an impressive 6.9/10 on my awesome-o-metre.
