1917 is set at the height of the First World War, where two young British soldiers, Schofield (George MacKay) and Blake (Dean-Charles Chapman) are given the unenviable task of crossing enemy territory to deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers—Blake’s own brother among them.
Set in WWII, Dunkirk is a retelling of the story when British, French, Belgian, and Canadian troops were surrounded by the Germans who picked them off like fish in a battle. Dunkirk, tells this story from 3 perspectives; The Mole (the land) the sea, and the air which are all taking place at different times but entwined into one non-linear chronicle of the events of the day
